Manufacturing - Business Acumen: 2 Day training program for 100 executives with objective of understanding cross-functional dependencies. This employee engagement activity was carried out as a part of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations Event by Amara Raja Batteries Ltd. under the theme - Promoting Entrepreneurship. Owing to the nature of the theme, Business Simulations was utilized as an obvious choice to successfully inculcate entrepreneurship and develop leadership qualities.
In this program, participants were given a unique hands-on experience at understanding the cross functional linkages and decision complexities in simulation based interactive environment. The activity started off by the division of participants into teams, each of which was given complete control over a virtual manufacturing firm. The goal of each firm was to attain sustainability and achieve maximum profitability in a competitive multiplayer scenario through strategic decisions in various areas of the firm such as marketing, finance, operations and so on.
Expert facilitator and subject matter expert merged theoretical concepts and practical experience by providing necessary inputs through debriefing and analysis of real time performance. Each team was ranked on the basis of SHV or shareholder value, the winner of this exercise was the firm scoring the highest SHV. The experience not only helped sharpen decision making skills amongst participants but aimed to inculcate enhance team spirit and form a better understanding of the corporate vision.
